About us
Welcome to the Sixth Form at King Edward’s. We’re delighted to extend a warm invitation to all post-16 students considering joining our thriving community.
I often say that I have the best job at King Edward’s — leading a dedicated, talented team that supports our exceptional students is a true privilege. Whether you're already part of our school or joining us from another local secondary, you'll be made to feel at home from the moment you arrive.
While our school's proud history stretches back to 1551, our focus is firmly on the future. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum designed to prepare students for the demands of the 21st century, both academically and personally.
Alongside strong academic performance — consistently demonstrated by excellent A-level results — we place great emphasis on personal growth. Our rich programme of enrichment activities ensures that students leave us not only well-qualified but also well-rounded.
We have a proven track record of supporting our students into higher education. In fact, 100% of our class of 2025 applicants secured a university place, with 80% achieving their firm choice.
At KEVIGS, our small, friendly Sixth Form offers a supportive environment where ambition is nurtured, and potential is realised. If you’re motivated, aspirational, and ready to aim high, we would be proud to support you through the next stage of your educational journey.
Student support
At KEVIGS Sixth Form, you’ll have access to dedicated support right in the Sixth Form block. This includes pastoral support whenever you need it, as well as our Careers Lead, who is based in the Sixth Form and always available to help with UCAS applications and planning your next steps after Sixth Form.
What makes us different?
We offer a college-like experience within a grammar school setting. We celebrate individuality, and therefore our Sixth Form students are not required to wear a uniform. Independence is a key focus: you will have dedicated private study time alongside your lessons, and you are free to come and go when you do not have a timetabled session. This includes being able to leave the site and take the short walk into Louth town centre.
Our Sixth Form has its own dedicated space, including Hubbard’s Café, which is reserved exclusively for our students.
We offer a broad mix of traditional A-Levels, which will be supplemented from September 2025 with exciting new courses, including Criminology (Diploma), Computer Science, Accounting, Law, English Language, and Music Technology.
In addition, we pride ourselves on small class sizes, an ethos of excellence, and a strong emphasis on academic achievement. You will be taught by subject specialists, many of whom studied at Russell Group universities.
